Knowledge and Experience of the Micro/small business sectors

Technical knowledge relevant to running a makerspace (safety, basic training for the use of tools/equipment

Networking

We envisage that a weekly meeting, in total about two hours to draw on experience and ideas to firm up the proposal. The allocated tasks which we can break down into work packages of between 1-4 hours. We can then develop a planned work programme and adapt as we make progress.

We want to be at the centre of building a people centred collaborative economy across West Oxfordshire.

Our Mission:

MakerSpace Witney brings together the citizens of West Oxfordshire, individuals who want to make good use of their experience and skills, hobbyists, crafters and micro-businesses to connect, collaborate and make, supporting creative endeavour across social, public and private sectors.

In Practice:

  • A group of people who want to give some time and effort to run the Maker Space
  • People who want to join the Maker Space and pay a small monthly subscription
  • A building to accommodate a range of activities, with breakout spaces, and an admin office
  • A range of tools and workspaces that can enable members to accomplish members activities and joint projects with partners
  • Opportunities for existing makers (including small and micro-businesses) in West Oxfordshire to use the Maker Space, participate in activities and projects and access equipment
  • A plan for financial sustainability using a community wealth building approach.
